Turning Concept to Reality
The concept I was given had not yet considered the mounting experience, so I created an experience that not only worked but was satisfying.
Creating a Satisfying Experience
It was essential to prototype this concept since I needed to understand the mounting ergonomics to design the right interface with the gear rails.
Snap Mount Design
Mounting into both gear rails requires a high level of precision, so I created a snap mount design that makes it much easier for the user to slide and snap the units into the rails.
Production
At the end of the project I worked with external engineering and manufacturing to create the final product that was presented at the AE.1 public launch event.
